The restaurant Stůl is located in Prague’s Hanspaulka. It offers an escape from the busy centre and first-class gastronomy in a pleasant environment. The Stůl shares a building with the restaurant U Matěje, both of which are run by the famous Chef Jan Punčochář. Decorated in a modern and minimalist design, the interior features a sophisticated and relaxed atmosphere. The capacity is limited to only twelve seats, which guarantees intimacy and exclusivity. The staff is attentive, professional and friendly, and the dishes are very creative. The Chef works precisely with Czech and international ingredients and prepares original dishes, using only seasonal foodstuff. The dishes served have a perfect presentation. The offer includes a tasting menu served in the middle of the table so that you can share it. The menu is not fixed and changes almost every day. The wine list is thoroughly compiled and presents an extensive selection of wines from the Czech Republic and abroad, preferring small winemakers and exceptional vintages. The sommelier is always ready to suggest a suitable wine for any course from the tasting menu. The tuna with poached egg and capers provided a very well thought out harmony of flavors, as did the porcini, egg yolks and parmesan. The fig with pecorino stood out for its quality and inspiring as well as creative combination of textures, while the tartare with marrow was fantastically seasoned and well thought out. The caramel egg, on the other hand, showed a perfect knowledge of techniques. The rustic concept of plating might surprise some, as well as the intense bonding with the food. However, in this concept, Stůl provides a top-notch dining experience. Reservations are required here; the evening service is divided into two time slots.
