Gault&Millau
History

The Gault & Millau guide is considered one of the premier guides for showcasing   the best restaurants and establishments around the world. It was  founded in 1965 by two French journalists and food lovers, Henri Gault and Christian Millau.  They were particularly known for promoting nouvelle cuisine, a style of cooking that   emphasises lightness, fresh ingredients and creative presentation, which represented a departure from traditional French cuisine with heavy sauces. This guide not only recognises   renowned chefs, but also   promotes the discovery of   new talent and encourages innovation and international influence in cuisine.  As a result, Gault & Millau has become a major figure in the world of gastronomy and their guide has gained international recognition and prestige.
